Cheung Chau

Cheung Chau is one of Hong Kong's 260+ outlying Islands. It has a population of 25,000. It has a traditional fishing fleet with wooden hulled boats. It has harbour front seafood restaurants. It has a bun festival. It was once the base of one of the South China Sea's most notorious pirates. This tour is a private mini hike round the island, finishing up with a sam-pan ride through the harbour. Cheung Chau is a city break away that is chosen by many Hong Kongers, so why not find out why?

Highlights

See the markers on the map above to get an idea of some of the highlights of the Cheung Chau private sightseeing tour and mini hike

Transport

Arrive and return on ferry from Central (Hong Kong Island). There are no cars or public transport of Cheung Chau, so we walk.... Apart from a sam pan ride across the harbour.

Eating

The seafood restaurants are simple, but the food is great. The squid is famous (it is fished at night and on the plate the next day, straight from the boats).

Price

The price is for my guiding services. There are additional goods and services during the tour, for food, transport and so forth. The restaurants and sam-pan owners only take cash (but it is not that expensive). These additional costs have to be paid for directly, to the service providers, on the day. I don't take any commission or freebies.
